about

MAH in my new album, the first one of SWORD RECORDS.

In this album I have collected nine tunes in which in various ways I explore the song form, which inspired some of the most important jazz composers. I've always loved the music of Ellington, Monk, Mingus, Coltrane, Shorter: they are my teachers and my mentors.

The band is a classic quartet with tenor sax, guitar, double bass and drums: to realize this project I have carefully chosen my partners, looking for a warm, intimate, enveloping sound.

The style that I have chosen to give to these songs is sober, simple, sincere: this is the way I conceive my music today.

I hope you like MAH and that you want to enjoy it.

about

Roberto Spadoni Rome, Italy

I feel lucky. I fell in love with music and she took me by hand and guides me on the paths of life. Thanks to her I have been able to work with so many musicians: Kenny Wheeler, Gunther Schuller, Maria Schneider, Dave Liebman, Ronnie Cuber, Dave Weckel, Fabrizio Bosso, Elio, Hiromi, Paolo Fresu, Javier Girotto.
I've always seen guitar and orchestra as 2 instruments. They make no difference to me.
